When ink and parchment lull my eyes to blessed reverie,
they mire dreams of color, and clear creative thoughts to be
slumbered through, and brewed anew each draping of my lids
which, though in daytime slaves to light, become content herein.
"The Dream" - A hackneyed subject? No! Assuage the cynic's rage
who, once a poet-dreamer, lost his chance and who's to pay? No!
My dreamful mind shan't be tranquilized by silly worded swats
from those who think they ought to act and ought to think they naught.

Non-Epilogue:
To the few who happened on this fancy parchment inked,
here's a way to waste more time [look below for link].
Tell me what you think.

nicely done... lovely, playful and worded so it feels a bit Shakespearean to me (but what do I know about Shakespear other than I can't understand most of what he wrote - haha)...
ReplyDeleteon a side note:
unsure of what/where Cornudus (in the title) is/was, I googled it, which only led me back to your blog and someone else's, a friend of yours, where I watched a vlog from April of 2009 (when said friend visited you in Nashville) before I realized that the trail I was on was a deadend because the blogger followed you, and the link was bringing me back to your blog with Cornudus in the title... so now, I still don't know what/where it is/was, but I did get to take a little stroll down memory lane, to a place in time when you harbored sugar gliders and played with OBO : D
Thanks, Mrs. H! Cornudus is a west Texas town/gas station/restaurant with a population of about 5-6 (according to the sign)! I guess not everything is googlable, haha. Trekked out there with a friend to summit Guadalupe Peak a few weeks back.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the blove.
