I took a walk;
I didn't know where I was going.
And just like the endings
we play out in our heads,
I was alone at the showing.
And because you didn't
come get me in time,
my lamp was left barely glowing.
As your life continues
to ripen with age,
my inconsistency keeps growing.
One day I'm certain,
a moment of sure,
the next day my straight thought is bowing.
Sometimes, in moments
of freshly sung joy,
I feel as if I am worth knowing.
So as my scenery
changes this time,
I must not get caught up
where I'm going,
or the non-showing,
or the barely glowing,
or inconsistent growing,
or straightened-thought bowing,
or being worth knowing,
but simply
that life
is worth sowing.
i really like the ending, how you brought back all those phrases.
